briefly filmed in Corsica, cities-Shimla, Delhi, Gurgaon, Kolkata India; followed by two-day schedule in Tokyo, Tamasha tells the story of character Ved Vardhan Sahni (played by Kapoor) who loses his car to live according to social conventions that are expected of it. The film portrays the life of God in three stages: as a child of nine years old, a 19-year-old boy and an adult of 30 years of age, in a non-linear screenplay based on the show.
Tara Maheshwari (played by Padukone) is more identified with the life of Ved, helping him out of his double personality and become a show oriented interpreter. The story is based on the central theme of abrasion and loss of self-esteem as a result of a constant attempt to fit itself again.
